We know that AI is built on, and influenced by, the norms and values that already exist in society, which can have a negative impact for certain groups and individuals. As they say – “bias in, bias out”. There are many examples, even if the intention is to do well.
But where can we find examples of better practices? How can we counteract injustices in the use of AI? Professor Ericka Johnson will tell us about how AI can be used to improve solutions and conditions for everyone, in different sectors and examples.
During the evening, there will be a presentation followed by a workshop. This will be a great opportunity for you to meet and network with other women who are also in the tech industry!
- Introduction to East Sweden Tech Women
- Introduction of AI Sweden
- Presentation by Ericka Johnson followed by q&a

For whom is this event?
Ericka Johnson is a professor of gender and society at Linköping University. What’s East Sweden Tech Women?
East Sweden Tech Women is a network for women and non-binary professionals and students in the technology sector in East Sweden. The purpose of the network is to arrange and partake in events to develop the participant’s professional identity, skills, and meet others who are interested in the same thing as you. We aim to spark inspiration and engage in conversations that cover a wide range of topics within tech – from soft values that inspire, to cutting-edge innovations and technologies.
