The Baltic Sea region countries have different levels of open data availability and maturity but also face some common challenges. With this workshop, we would like to prompt collaboration between civic organisations and governments in order to support the reuse of data.

The purpose of the workshop is to discuss how we open data and civic tech initiatives in Sweden and across the Baltic Sea Region can have more impact.

The workshop is organised in the framework of the project: “Open data for civic participation”, funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers, and implemented in cooperation with the Latvian civil society organisation ManaBalss (MyVoice) and a group of Belarusian data activists. The main insights from the discussions will be used by project partners to develop networks and joint project proposals across the Nordic and Baltic countries.
