AI For Manufacturing Hackathon

Build an AI + Combinatorial Optimization-powered service that optimizes production flows like never seen before!

Plant managers often have great ideas of how to improve the planning process, but the production lines are too expensive and business-critical to experiment with and it's too hard to consider all the dynamic complexities needed to make good real-time optimization decisions.

Production planning is a combinatorial optimization problem. But, while combinatorial optimization tools excel at solving complex, large and well-defined optimization problems with mathematical variables and constraints, they are hard to work with for business managers that are not mathematical experts. 

LLMs can now bridge the communication gap between natural language and mathematical constraints. This opens up the possibility of making use of combinatorial optimization engines to automate many enterprise resource planning processes that have had to be optimized manually in the past.

The data set is provided by Atlas Copco.
